Terms of service

These terms apply to the accommodation the company sells and to the booking service around it. Submitting a booking counts as agreeing to them.

Article 1 (Purpose)

These terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the company and the user in the use of the accommodation booking service (the "service") provided on the website the company operates (the "site").

Article 2 (Definitions)

"Company" means the business that operates the site and is the seller of the accommodation offered on it, under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. The company's trade name, representative, address and contact details are shown in the business information at the bottom of the site.

"User" means a person who accesses the site and uses the service under these terms.

"Accommodation supplier" means the business that supplies rooms to the company and confirms and manages bookings.

"Property" means the hotel or other lodging where the user actually stays.

"Rate" means the combination of a price and cancellation terms shown for a given property, room, stay dates and party.

"Reference" means the number the company issues when a booking is confirmed. The user looks a booking up with the reference and the email used for the booking.

"Itinerary ID" means the number the accommodation supplier assigns to a booking. The company shows it on the booking confirmation screen, and the user can also look a booking up with the itinerary ID and the email used for the booking.

Article 3 (Status as the seller)

The company sells accommodation to the user directly, as a seller under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. It is a party to the accommodation contract made with the user, and it receives and refunds the price itself.

The accommodation service is provided by the accommodation supplier and the property. The company buys rooms from the accommodation supplier and sells them; room information and cancellation terms are shown as supplied, and the rate shown is the company's own selling price. The user can review them before confirming a booking.

If the property does not honour a confirmed booking, the company refunds what the user paid. The company starts the refund as soon as it confirms what happened; how long the money takes to reach the user depends on the payment method and follows the refund and cancellation policy. If the user wants one, the company helps find another property for the same dates.

Where the company causes damage to a user through intent or negligence, it is liable under the applicable law.

Article 4 (Posting and amendment of the terms)

The company posts these terms on the site where users can easily read them.

The company may amend these terms within the limits of the applicable law. An amendment is announced on the site at least 7 days before it takes effect, stating the effective date and the reason; an amendment unfavourable to users is announced at least 30 days in advance.

Amended terms apply to bookings submitted on or after the effective date. A booking already confirmed stays under the terms in force when it was made.

Article 5 (Scope of the service)

The company provides the following: searching and comparing properties and rates, choosing a room and bed setup, re-checking the rate immediately before booking, confirming the booking and issuing a reference, looking up a booking with the reference number or the itinerary ID and the email, changing the guest details of and cancelling a booking, and providing booking confirmation details.

Rates, remaining rooms and cancellation terms are based on the live values received from the accommodation supplier at the moment of the query and are not stored or reused, except that the rate of a confirmed booking is kept for 5 years as a record of payment and supply, as the privacy policy states.

Article 6 (Booking and formation of the contract)

The user chooses the property, room, bed setup, stay dates and party, reviews the rate and cancellation terms the company has re-checked, enters the guest and contact details, gives the required consents and submits the booking.

If the re-check shows that the rate has changed, the booking can be submitted only after the user has explicitly accepted the new rate. If the rate has sold out the booking cannot be submitted, and the company offers other rates for the same dates.

The contract for the accommodation service is between the company and the user. It forms when, after the accommodation supplier has confirmed the supply of the room, the company confirms the booking and shows the user the reference.

The user must keep the reference shown. The reference number or the itinerary ID, with the email used for the booking, finds the booking again.

Article 7 (Rates and payment)

The total shown on the site includes the room rate and taxes and service fees. Any fee the property charges on site is shown separately from the total and is collected by the property directly.

Rates are shown in the currency the user selects. Where the currency actually charged differs from the one shown, that fact is stated next to the rate, and the charged amount may differ from the displayed amount with the exchange rate.

Payment is made through the payment method the company provides; the timing and method are shown on the payment screen. The company does not collect card numbers or other payment details on the site.

Article 8 (Cancellation, changes and refunds)

Each rate carries its own cancellation terms: a free-cancellation deadline followed by penalty windows. The same terms are shown in the room list and again on the checkout screen.

The user can look up a booking under My booking with the reference number or the itinerary ID and the email, then cancel room by room or change the guest details. The company shows the estimated refund before a cancellation is confirmed.

The company does not offer a change of dates. To move the dates, the user cancels the booking and books again, and the rate's cancellation terms apply to that cancellation.

The refund amount and timing follow the refund and cancellation policy.

An accommodation service with a fixed stay date may be exempt from the right of withdrawal under Article 17(2) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. The company gives notice of this by showing the cancellation terms of each rate before booking and before payment.

Article 9 (Obligations of the user)

The service is for people aged 14 and over. A person under 14 may not make a booking.

The user must enter guest names exactly as they appear on the passport or other identification and provide a reachable email address and phone number. The user bears any disadvantage arising from incorrect information.

The user must observe the property's house rules, including check-in and check-out times, minimum check-in age, and smoking and pet policies.

The user must not use another person's details, use the service for an improper purpose or interfere with the operation of the site.

Article 10 (Obligations of the company)

The company endeavours to provide the service continuously and reliably in accordance with the applicable law and these terms.

The company protects users' personal data in accordance with the privacy policy.

The company receives and handles users' enquiries and complaints, and where a matter cannot be handled at once, informs the user of the reason and the schedule.

Article 11 (Limitation of liability)

Responsibility for the quality of the accommodation service, the condition of the room, the property's facilities and the services provided on site lies with the accommodation supplier and the property. The refund for a confirmed booking that is not honoured follows Article 3.

The company is not liable for a failure to provide the service during a period of force majeure such as natural disaster, war, an epidemic or a telecommunications outage.

The company is not liable for actions a user takes in reliance on information posted on the site unless the company acted with intent or negligence.

Article 12 (Protection of personal data)

The company collects and uses users' personal data in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act and the privacy policy, and provides the personal data required to process a booking to the accommodation supplier and the property, including transfer abroad. Details are set out in the privacy policy.

Article 13 (Dispute resolution)

Users can submit enquiries and complaints to the contact details shown at the bottom of the site.

If a dispute between the company and a user is not resolved between the parties, the user may apply for mediation to the Korea Consumer Agency, the Electronic Commerce Dispute Mediation Committee or another competent body.

Article 14 (Governing law and jurisdiction)

The law of the Republic of Korea governs these terms and any dispute arising from the use of the service.

Litigation between the company and a user is brought before the court with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.

Supplementary provision

These terms take effect on the day they are posted on the site.
